VAdm. Harry B. Harris Jr., commander of US 6th Fleet, inspects a Royal Norwegian Air Force P-3N Orion at Andøya AS, north of the Arctic Circle on 31 August 2011. Harris visited the station during a four-day visit to Norway as part of US 6th Fleet efforts to strengthen maritime partnerships with Norwegian counterparts. The aircraft on static display is the first of six Norwegian P-3s to receive the Mid-Life Upgrade kit, which includes new-build wings. The aircraft, christened Hjalmar Riiser-Larsen, was named in honor of the polar explorer who was the founding father of the Norwegian Air Force.
