Lockheed Martin test pilot David Nelson is at the controls of F-35B BF-1 as the aircraft completed the 100th short takeoff for the F-35B fleet on 15 March 2011. The milestone occurred on Flight 102 for BF-1 from NAS Patuxent River, Maryland. The 1.3-hour flight included two short takeoffs, one slow landing, and one vertical landing.
