In September 2010, the 772nd Expeditionary Airlift Squadron at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, flew nearly ninety missions, which resulted in approximately 300 C-130J sorties. The missions generally last from between twelve to sixteen hours and include cargo movement, aeromedical evacuations, and airdrops and can transition through as many as five or six different airfields. The unit moved more than two million pounds of cargo, 3,261 passengers, and completed nine airdrop missions in the month. The 41st Airlift Squadron at Little Rock AFB, Arkansas, forms the 772nd EAS, providing aircraft and personnel for Operation Enduring Freedom since March 2009.
