Approximately 150 US Airmen from the 821st Contingency Response Group at Travis AFB, California, recently planned, directed, and executed a large-scale, self-contained contingency response exercise from 8-19 September 2015 at five locations in California and Colorado. This exercise, whose name was derived from the mascot of the lead squadron, was hosted by the 821st CRG, supported by Air Mobility Liaison Officers, and executed with aircrews flying three different airframes, demonstrated a number of Contingency Response capabilities. Air Force participants included C-5M Super Galaxy aircrews from Travis, C-17 squadrons at JB Lewis-McChord, Washington, and C-130J Super Hercules crews from the 19th Airlift Wing at Little Rock AFB, Arkansas, and the 317th Airlift Group at Dyess AFB, Texas. US Army participants came from Fort Carson, Colorado.
