Navy Lt. Scott Cleveland, assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron 101 (VFA-101, known as the Grim Reapers) at Eglin AFB, Florida, is directed to park his F-35C Lightning II after landing at NAS Oceana, Virginia, on 28 October 2014. The visit to Oceana was to provide fleet Aviators and maintainers an opportunity to view the aircraft and receive briefings from the flight crew and maintainers. The original Fighter Squadron 101 (VF-101) was established in 1942 and flew various aircraft including the F-14 Tomcat. When the F-14 was retired in 2005, VF-101 was disestablished.
