A US Air Force crew ferried the twenty-second C-5M Super Galaxy from the Lockheed Martin facility in Marietta, Georgia, on 25 August 2014. This C-5M (Air Force serial number 86-0011) was ferried by a crew led by Maj. Gen. Dwyer L. Dennis, Director of Global Reach Programs in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition in Washington, D.C. The aircraft was flown to Stewart ANGB, New York, where it will first undergo interior paint restoration before being delivered to Travis AFB, California. It will be the fourth Super Galaxy assigned to the base near Fairfield.
