More than 350 US service members participated in Noble Shirley, a two-week exercise at Nevatim AB in Israel that ended in late May 2015. The exercise was a routine bilateral training exercise designed to promote cooperation and interoperability between the US forces and the Israel Defense Force. US Army Soldiers from the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 173rd Brigade Special Troops Battalion Airborne completed a combat equipment jump from 1,100 feet during the exercise and earning Israeli jump wings, as an IDF jumpmaster was aboard the C-130J flown by a crew from the 37th Airlift Squadron deployed from Ramstein AB, Germany. The C-130J crews also completed night flights that included low level flying, assault landings, and container delivery system drops.
